How to obtain a prescription for LDN through e-med
In order for us to provide a prescription for Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN), you must first join e-med. The join form is in three sections: Personal details; Medical details; and Payment details. There is an annual charge of £20 for being an e-med member.
Once this form is submitted, we will email a reply to you within 4 working hours with your membership number and password. This email will also contain a link to the LDN prescription request form, which will ask you questions specific to your condition. Once this second form is submitted, the doctor will review your details and respond within 4 working hours.
Before prescribing LDN for the first time, we will also require written notification from your GP or consultant confirming you have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). This can be scanned and emailed to us, faxed to 0203 006 8810, or posted to our usual address.
If the doctor decides that a prescription is suitable, we will post this either to yourself or to a pharmacy of your choice. Not all pharmacies can do this, so it's important you approach one that does. Likewise, there is a wide variation in pricing for LDN, anything from £15 to £150 a month. As a result, many people opt to have the prescription sent directly to Dicksons Pharmacy in Glasgow (their telephone number is 0141 647 8032). We charge £15 per prescription issued and normally prescribe a 3 month supply of LDN. You can then contact the pharmacy to purchase the medication directly from them and arrange to have it delivered to yourself. Please note that e-med has no control over the cost of the actual medication.
Please Note: We usually prescribe LDN for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). If you require LDN for something other than MS, please provide details on the Information Request Form to check we will be able to prescribe LDN for your condition before joining. If we are able to prescribe, we will need your GP or specialist to sign off this form first. Please print it off and take it to your GP/specialist as soon as you can.
